Descendants of Mughal came together to rehabilitate the Mughal Dynasty

Mughals who ruled over India for a long period and beautified it with magnificent buildings now their descendants are living in critical condition in the country. Recently, with the sole objective of rehabilitation of the descendants of Mughal dynasty living in the Indian sub continent as well as in other parts of the world a trust ‘The Mughal India Trust’ was formed in New Delhi.

The step has been taken by Mr. Shahid Ali Khan, the Chairman of ‘The Mughal India Trust’who himself traces legacy to the Mughal dynasty and by Dr. Anand Mohan Zutshi Gulzar Dehlavi the Patron of the trust.

Addressing the press conference Dr. Gulzar Dehlavi, the patron of the trust, said: “The Mughals ruled over India for more than five hundred years. During their rule they promoted the composite culture. They took keen interest in beautifying India.The innumerable major and minor buildings constructed during that era bear testimony this fact”.

Highlighting on the aims and objectives of the Trust Dr. Gulzar mentioned that the fundamental objective of ‘The Mughal India Trust’ is to identify the descendents of Mughal and then prepare a list of persons living in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Myanmar and other parts of the world who trace their lineage to Mughal Dynasty. Once this task is over, then the steps for their rehabilitation will be initiated.

Dr.Gulzar Dehlavi expressed his utterly regret saying that the descendents of this great Dynasty both Hindus and Muslims are living in absolute oblivion and are a victim of horrible poverty. He also demanded from the government to fulfill its promise to shift the Mausoleum of the last Mughal Emperor and hero of 1857 revolt Bahadur Shah Zafar from Yangon to India.

“Development does not mean that we should ignore our ancestors and forefathers, our culture and civilization” said Dr. Gulzar Dehlavi Replying to a question.

Explaining the future plan of the trust, the Chairman of the Trust Mr. Shahid Ali Khan, said: “Once the list of descendants of Mughal Dynasty is prepared then the trust will put the demand in front of the government for their rehabilitation. If the government fails to do so then the Trust would take up this project on its own”.

“In the cities of Aurangabad, Delhi, Kolkata and at some other places such descendants of Mughal Dynasty have been identified who are living under abject poverty and their socio-economic condition is very pitiable. They would be presented before the media whenever required” he revealed. The trust has on its disposal of a sum of Rs. 30 lakh.
